With the wind whipping around the Panthers ground straight from the arctic circle, the spectators struggle to keep the cold at bay.

The teams warmed under the expert supervision of the coaches. The Panthers were eager to get the match started, with many players asking when the match was starting.

With several of the Parents nursing wounds from the beer monster, it was good to hear Garvin’s gentle voice drifting across the pitch soothing painful heads!

It was good to see Sam back refereeing again and with the comments from the players he is developing quite the fan club.

With a high scoring matches, you could spot the parents who paid their children per try. The sound of the wallets under strain, creaking from the side lines was deafening. After the match, and a discussion with Felix I am £10 lighter, thankfully the coaching squad didn’t choose man of the match, it could have been much worse.

Both squads were playing as a cohesive unit, passing, calling for the ball and tackling all coming together week on week, thanks to the hard work of the coaches. With progression like this I am looking forward to watching Long Eaton on the 7th(We’re actually at Ilkeston-BP).

Thoughts from the trenches:
Matt: Two excellent games, the first game was easier the scoring being a little one sided, the second game a lot more physical, a better well drilled team we came away with a comfortable victory in the end. Stand out players, 5 or 6 of the guys all stepping up when they needed to making runs and tackles. Thomas J is the one that stood out (a bit biased on my part) made some outstanding cover tackles and scoring several try’s. Again, it was hard to choose the outstanding players with many names in the pot. Ethan played well with all players stepping up to the mark.

Garvin: What was pleasing this week, that we spread the ball about a bit more and scored some nice try’s, the boys did well.

Richard: Very good team work by everybody, more name on balls and putting the ball down a bit more ruthlessly. Everyone played superbly, Robert was out-standing but I’m biased lol.

Ben: Some great performances today from both teams, really looking to link up more which is great. Ready for a big session next week before heading off to Ilkeston.

Andy: Well done to all the Panthers who played against Mosborough today. Keep up the good work you’re getting better and better as the seaso
