Kids welfare is our top priority

At Chesterfield Panthers Rugby Union Football Club (CPRUFC) we believe that taking part in our sport should be a positive and enjoyable part of children’s lives. Young players’ welfare is paramount.

At CPRUFC we have over 180 young players under the age of 18.

We want to ensure that all our children are protected and kept safe from physical, sexual, emotional harm or neglect whilst they are with the Club’s coaches, helpers and other volunteers.

Our Club Safeguarding Officer, Becky Wrath, manages safeguarding issues across the Club but recognises that safeguarding is not the responsibility of just one person. It is the responsibility of us all.

Becky has just one Assistant Safeguarding Officer to help with applications to the Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS).
A few more assistants would be very welcome to help spread the load and make safeguarding more visible around our Club.

The RFU through the NLD run “In Touch” courses which are aimed at both Club Safeguarding Officers and Assistant Safeguarding Officers.

The next course, which is free of charge, is at Newark RFC on Wednesday 20th November from 7pm.

If you would like to help Becky raise awareness of safeguarding at Chesterfield Panthers please reply to this email or contact our Secretary on secretary@chesterfieldpanthers.com. We will then send you information on how to book onto the course.

Thank you for your continued support.
