Trys Jake Blair x2, Reece Newton, Tom Arnold, Connor Hayes. Conversion Adam pedley

The Panthers entertained Lincolnshire team north hykeham in there latest game of pre season preparations, with game plans key and the opposition an unknown quantity the remit from the coaching team was performance and not score and if we're all brutally honest the traveling NH team were underestimated this became apparent within 5 minutes when they took advantage of some loose play from the Panthers to score in the corner unconverted. Panthers responded straight away with a well worked move Lee Whitmore working the link between forewards and backs to set the pretty boys away for a great try again in the corner Jake Blair touching down unconverted.at this stage the Panthers had a strong spell in the game but unforced errors costing them points on the board eventually the points did come again Jake Blair getting on the end of some training ground plays to score his second in the corner, not to be outdone and again from an unforced error NH run an excellent training ground move off an attacking scrum to score under the posts converted.

Half time score Panthers 10 - 12 NH

The second half started with points on the board for the away team a penalty under the posts , again the Panthers showing the character of the last few weeks hitting back with two quick trys Reece Newton showing his speed and power to get one in the corner and then the human dump truck Tom Arnold getting one in the opposite corner both unconverted, again NH hit back with another converted try!
With this very entertaining game going into the last quarter and the scores and contest very even it was Panthers who looked like taking the win after a long spell of pressure within the away teams 22 and the Panthers not opting to kick penalties all game a lineout 10m out was taken this was proven a good option with the pack driving over man of the match Connor Hayes claiming the points pedders converting.
But again NH hit back with another converted try to put them back in the lead, it looked as though the Panthers might have claimed the win working hard from the restart to get within touching distance of the try line, not for the first time in the game and despite several warnings from the ref the ball was illegally slowed down by the opposition in a try scoring situation the penalty was awarded and then reversed unfortunately this was the last play NH kicking dead to claim a deserved win.

Again lads another step towards the start of the season scoring good training ground trys, excellent lineout work all game both in attack and defence, perhaps playing with to much pace and not enough control in the first half, work to be done on defence and restarts but again it's all part of the preseason.
Well deserved man of the match for Connor Hayes and can't really end without mentioning Tom Arnold's train wreck tackle on the hykeham winger credit to the young man for bouncing straight back up.
See you all at training lads .
