With the panthers travelling with a very young and inexperianced team it was a shock to hear that meden vales first team didnt have a game, but to there credit they did rotate the two teams quite fairly.
the young side battled well against a very large vale pack and never gave up from the first minute to the 80th managing to get a try and a penalty in the first half thanks to there insperational skipper rich keeling, unfortunatly this was the panthers only score of the game and despite some resolute defending the bigger more experianced vale team kept the scoreboard ticking over running out deserved 33-8 winners.
Special thanks to the limited old heads that we had the ginger ninja mick gough managing to stop the vales rolling maul on several occasions single handed ( wether legally is another matter) liam charlesworth at 23 years of age had a very mature game, steve allen who tackled everything on the pitch and james keep getting knocks on the head mcmillan woods for a tireless effort, this backed up by big games from the youngsters like ralph croft and callum howie but to be honest not a bad player on the pitch well done to all final mentions to luke race for making his rugby debut but man of the match goes to an exceptional display both in defence and attack from danny schum>
