Panthers too strong for Hallamshire

Chesterfield Panthers 2's 31 v Hallamshire 2's 5

On what was supposed to be a wet day, turned out to be a lovely day for rugby, with a lot of old heads and young players, Panther entertained Hallamshire 2's, from the start Panthers defence was solid but it was Hallamshire mistakes that allowed Chrsi Brailsford to sneek in to score. Some lovely open play allowed Panthers to get the ball wide and for Dan Bates to score, Iain Taylor converted. Again some excellent defensive pressure allowed Dan Bates to steal the ball, chip it into the try area for a certain try, but the Hallamshire winger tackled Dan without the ball, and a penalty try was given to Dan Bates, Iain Taylor converting.
A wayward clearance kick allowed Hallamshire to score in the corner, but what was pleasing was no one complained, we just knew what to do next time. Chris Brailsford scored again, and Josh Harding added to the tally, sadly the referee disallowed a perfect try for Luce Race only playing in his 2nd ever game.
Well played to everyone, great defense and some really good linking up play between the forwards and backs. Man of the Match was Chris Brailsford, congratulations goes to Mick Gough who announced he was getting engaged, so we named him DOD!
