Lee Whitmore dominates on his return

The Panthers entertained local team mosbourough who made the short trip across the border on a fine Saturday afternoon ! The conditions were ideal for good rugby and hopefully a moral boosting win for the home team.
The opening exchanges were even both teams getting the feel for the opposition, mosbourough were the more physical of the two teams which prevented quick ball wheneventually the forewards bent there backs to produce good ball for matty simple hands allowed ant Barnett space to weave is magic scoring under the posts - peders converting. But again the more physical yorkshire side caused problems at the breakdown forcing a turnover allowing there pacey centre to score and convert. This set up the tone for the game when the Panthers got clean ball they caused problems matty Upton breaking through to score from close range peders again converting, but again turn over ball allowed mosbourough to score a unconverted try in the corner.
Half time score Panthers 14 - 12 mosbourough
The 2nd half mosbourough made several changes in there pack and with the Panthers loosing hooker Lee Whitmore in the warm up stand in hooker captain rich keeling really started to struggle and again the tone for the half was set the Panthers trying to cope with the powerful yorkshire sides scrum and breakdown play this resulted in two trys for mosbourough one converted.
Chesterfield had to dig in or the game was lost and this they did Phillip cawthorne chasing a clearing kick to make his own luck with the bounce to score under the posts peders slotting the conversion! This set up a grand stand last ten minutes the Panthers really living of scraps and again Matti managed to fire out some clean ball to dan Wilson on the wing he evaded several tackles to free peders showing a great turn of pace to score and convert.
Final score Panthers 28 - 26 mosbourough
