A breezy but bright and most importantly, dry morning saw Chesterfield Panthers U14s host Gainsborough. Panthers were off to a flying start with two very quick try’s giving them the lead like a greyhound out of the trap. Gainsborough responded quickly with two great try’s of their own, setting the stall for a epic match. Panthers just had the edge at half time with 27-24 on the score board.

The second half was just as thrilling to watch, with every lad on the pitch giving 110%. The Panthers battled through with some great defensive tackles and fantastic try’s to win the game 53-38. Two closely matched teams demonstrated a great example of the Rugby ethos - Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Disapline and Spirtmanship.

The great atmosphere in the clubhouse after the game was the icing on the cake with both teams and coaches sharing in the banter and looking forward to playing each other again next season.
