A new season,a new captain and a new team.

The sun shone,perhaps a little to much, on stonegravels for Chesterfields opening game of the season against Derby vipers.
The New players were thrown in at the deep end for many of them it was there first rugby match ever. Although Melanie canning broke her ankle in april, she showed no reluctance to do what she does best and scored the first try for chesterfield after 15mins. Derby replied with a try at the 30 minute mark and with substantial pressure another try followed. After two more tries from Derby constant pressure from the Panthers pack saw Kim Hyslop storm over for a well deserved try which she also converted. The game was called off early due to an injury to Danii Booth. Forward of the match was Yolande Dixon for her relentless tackling and determined play in her first game.
