Passion - a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the winners of the 'NLD SPIRIT OF RUGBY PLATE'

In a game that could have gone either way! our Colts came out on top!

A massive thankyou to Tupton RUFC for hosting the final, and a special thankyou to 'BOB' and 'KIRKY' for an amazing day down THE REC.

A special thankyou to our own rugby family and supporters that made the trip!

Head Coach:
Firstly, well done to the whole squad. We had a great turnout yesterday. Everybody played that was able to, but those out have contributed to the team all season and are a big part of its continued development.

Ashfield were a genuine threat yesterday. They turned up and they set up determinedly from the off.

Our forwards put pressure on up front, rattled them and they were caught overcommitted.

That set the tone for the match, and we began moving the ball through hands, securing our first try within a few minutes.

Up front the battle continued, some crunching tackles pushing Ashfield back and the pressure on them resulted in some desperate tackling and subsequent sanction.

We showed great support to the breakdown, our rucks were secured, our service from the back much quicker. We gave ourselves permission to make decisions and that built confidence. The team played the game they trained for; they listened for the calls, and we played with shape and structure.

It was the team's best performance and a deserved 29-15 win.

To single out any players almost feels a disservice to the team. There were 25 players who gave their best. Whilst Reuben, Cameron, Ellis, Gabe, Briggs, Stanley, Freddie and Owen were the most visible stars, the work being done by every other player on the pitch allowed them to do what each of them do best.

A true team performance and they should all be rightly proud of their contributions.

So, well done to the whole COLTS squad, a day to remember and savor and to build a lifetime of memories from that day forward.

And so, to our awards.

We have a rest weekend and then it's a trip to nearby Dronfield for our Baa Baas match with Rotherham Phynix.
