Our U12 girls travelled to Long Eaton on Sunday 23rd March to play in the NLD 12s festival today.

Two leagues of 4 teams were formed including teams from Mansfield, Dronfield, Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Loughborough, Newark, & Barbarians.
The 5 Chesterfield girls joined with 8 from Dinnington to form "Dinning-field" for one competition only.
They lost narrowly to Dronfield in the first game before bouncing back and beating Newark and then Mansfield to finish second in their league.

As group runners up they faced Ilkeston, who were runners up in the opposite group. The girls know Ilkestone well, having played with and against them during the course of the season. Despite going two tries behind the girls fought back and eventually drew 2-2. They had a feeling of what might have been as they had two tries disallowed in the final minutes.

Special mention to Lilly who has recently joined the team and dotted down for her first try.
